Dr. Tandon was selected for Short Term Studentship by the Indian Council of Medical Research in 2012, for which he undertook a study which he presented at Leiden International Medical Students' Conference, Leiden, The Netherlands in 2015. He was subsequently selected as the Ambassador for India to LIMSC for the years 2015- 2017 and 2017-2019. Having a keen interest in extracurricular activities, he was elected as the Literary and Culture Secretary, for the Students' Council, Curofy Student Ambassador, Curofy Student Mentor, Founding and Executive board member of Manipal University Students' Research Forum and a Founding member of Volunteer Student Organization. Dr. Tandon secured a Distinction in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology and First Class in ENT, Ophthalmology, Social and Preventive Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology and was eventually elected the Fellow of Academy of General Education by Manipal University.
